The Hillcrest Fastpitch team played their first home games on Thursday against Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley, losing to the Wolverines, 24-2 and 18-3.

Highlights for the Comets included 4 hits from Madi Foss, Ava Renner with a 2-for-2 day at the plate and a run scored, and Ava Lindgren reaching base 3 times and scoring twice.  Luna Nguyen scored her first run of the season and made a great defensive play in the outfield.

“We have continued to make progress each week and are learning the game more all of the time,” said Hillcrest head coach Russ Riches.  “They are continuing to apply the ‘core values’ that we have been learning all season long.  We are proud of the progress and look forward to seeing how we continue to get better next week.  We are looking forward to our ‘Teacher Appreciation Day’ on Monday, May 15, and our ‘Senior Day’ on Thursday, May 18.”
