Hillcrest Lutheran Academy collected 16 hits on Wednesday as they recorded a 15-1 victory over St. John’s Prep in a high school baseball contest played at M State in Fergus Falls.  Winning pitcher Micah Bermel threw a five-inning complete game, allowing just an unearned run, while striking out six and walking one.

“We finally put together a complete game,” Comets Head Coach Zach Stich said.  “Micah threw a gem on the mound and we had multiple players’ record two hits.  The guys really took to the coaching after Monday’s games and we came out and played Comet baseball.”

Hillcrest was led at the plate by Evan Lindgren (3-4, 3R, 2SB, RBI), Ethan Swedberg (2-2, 4RBI, R, 2B, 2BB), Nate Bermel (2-3, 2RBI, SB, BB), Joe Torgeson (2-4, 2R, 2B), Dan Reisch (2-3, RBI, R, 2SB), Griffin Haus (2-3, R, SB) and Micah Bermel (1-3, RBI, 2B, 2R).

Hillcrest will travel to Ashby on Monday for a double header.
