Long Prairie-Grey Eagle broke open a tight 5-4 game with a 10-run fourth inning to post a 15-4 victory over the Hillcrest Comets on Thursday. “We showed a lot of improvement from our first two games,” Comets head coach Zach Stich said. “But, we ran into another bad inning and the game spiraled out of control from there. Micah Bermel (3IP, 2K, 3ER, 5R, 4BB) did an excellent job on the mound and we had some solid at bats from Evan Lindgren (2-3, R, 2SB) and Trey Swedenburg (1-2, BB, SB, 2R, RBI).”
Other hitting leaders for Hillcrest were Nate Bermel (1-2, BB, SB, R), Ethan Swedberg (1-3), Griffin Haus (1-1, BB, RBI), Joe Torgeson (0-2, BB, RBI) and Micah Bermel (1-1, 2BB, 2B).
The Comets have a Monday double header with Hancock on the schedule, but the location of the game is not known at this time.
