The Brandon-Evansville softball team held Hillcrest without a hit in sweeping their double header on Tuesday, winning 15-0 and 31-1.

Game one hitting leaders for the Chargers were Maddie Stich (2-3, RBI, 2B), Sydney Schaefer (1-2, 2RBI, 2R, 2SB, SF), Kylee Dingwall (1-3, 3B, RBI), Claire Boesl (1-1, 2B, SB, 2R) and Taylin Kramer (1-3, R).  Haddy Baune walked twice, stole two bases and scored a pair of runs.  Kramer (4IP, 0H, 0R, 4BB, 12K) was the winning pitcher.

In game two, Dingwall drove in 8 runs with 3 hits in 5 at bats.  She also scored four times.  Schaefer was 3-for-5 with 4 runs batted in and 5 runs scored.  She had a triple and a stolen base.  Kramer was 2-for-2 with 2 walks and was hit by a pitch.  She scored 5 times and drove in two.  Boesl (2-3, 4R, RBI, 2BB, SB) and Mia Elmer (2-4, 2B, 3RBI, 2R, BB) had multiple hit games for B-E, while Tahira Schaffran (1-3, 2RBI, 3R, 3B, 2BB) and Jenna Sturges (1-3, 4RBI, 3R, 2BB) also came through at the plate.  Dingwall (2IP, 0H, 0R, 1BB, 3K) was the winning pitcher and Schaefer allowed an unearned run in one inning of hitless relief.

Hillcrest Head Coach Russ Riches said, “There are several players that played their first Fastpitch game ever.  They are learning how to work together as a team and they are learning more about the game.  I was pleased with the effort of the girls.  They gave their best effort and learned from each situation.  There were some positive highlights today.  Ava Lindgren was on base every time.  She drew a walk or was hit by a pitch in every plate appearance and she also stole 7 bases and scored our only run.  Madi Foss did a courageous job on the mound.  She gave her best effort and her leadership was outstanding.  There were great plays made by Ava Lindgren and Ava Renner, and Amelia Lindgren played very hard behind the plate as she is learning the position.”

Hillcrest will play at Hancock on Thursday.
