“We got off to a fast start and played really well out of the gate,” said Head Coach Hannah Clark of the Comets. “I thought we did a nice job crashing the offensive boards, giving us multiple looks at the basket and the girls did a nice job hustling after loose balls. I thought we came ready to play tonight and played a really good game on both ends of the floor.”
The Comets were led by Maddie Ballweg (15 points, 7 assists), Ella Knutson (13 points, 6 rebounds), Elsa Retzlaff (13 points, 5 rebounds), Lizzy Olstad (11 points), Madi Foss (7 points, 7 rebounds) and Ruby Peterson (7 points, 6 rebounds).
Laney Frost and Kenady Cameron led Battle Lake with 9 points each. Sophie Akerman contributed 8 points.
Hillcrest (18-9) will now travel to Breckenridge on Thursday night.
Battle Lake finishes their season with a record of 5 wins and 22 losses.
