Evink and VerSteeg Pace Owls in Win Over Chargers

The Hancock boys’ basketball team won the rebounding battle with Brandon-Evansville on Saturday, 46-28, and the Owls won the game, 72-53.  Hancock shot 47% (29-62) in the game, while B-E was 17-for-55 (31%).  The Chargers hit 12-of-36 3-point field goal attempts.

Chase Evink (10 points, 16 rebounds) and Hudson VerSteeg (24 points, 14 rebounds) both recorded double-doubles in the game.  Jackson Koehl had a team high 25 points, while adding 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. 

Leaders for Brandon-Evansville were Dezmond White with 26 points and Micah Fuller with 16.

Hancock (12-10, 8-8 LEC) will host West Central Area on Tuesday night, before closing out their regular season schedule with a road game against Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa.

Brandon-Evansville (6-17, 4-11 LEC) has a home game against BBE on Monday and will entertain KMS on Tuesday.
