Cardinals Put Together Solid Second Half to Beat Otter Boys

The Fergus Falls boys’ basketball team led the entire first half in Alexandria on Tuesday night, leading 28-25 going into the break.  The Cardinals shot the ball really well in the second half and were able to capitalize on Otter turnovers in their come from behind 67-54 victory.

Alexandria had four players reach double figures, led by 16 from Chase ThompsonDawson Roderick added 15, Mason Witt had 14, and Talan Witt finished with 10.

“We came out of the gates well,” said Head Coach Matt Johnson of Fergus Falls.  “Hayden Knick hit four 3’s in the first half and Ryan Hirst had a nice first half as well.  Henry Bethel scored all 16 of his points in the second half and helped keep us in the game.  Overall, it was a nice effort and a good game.”

Bethel (16 points, 5 assists), Knick (14 points), Hirst (12 points) and Jaydon Manteufel (5 rebounds) were the statistical leaders for the Otters.

The Otters game against St. Cloud Tech that was scheduled for Thursday has been postponed until Thursday, March 2.  Fergus Falls (6-17, 4-9 CLC) will play at Willmar next Tuesday.

Alexandria (17-4, 12-2 CLC) will host Sartell on Thursday.
