Hancock shot 55% (32-58) from the floor on Thursday night as they protected their home court with a 77-56 win over Canby in a non-conference boys’ basketball contest. The Owls had 24 assists in the game and commanded a 42-15 advantage on the boards.
Jared Koehl (18 points, 12 rebounds) and Chase Evink (15 points, 10 rebounds) each registered a double double for the Owls. Hudson VerSteeg led the Owls with 21 points and 7 assists. Jackson Koehl contributed 17 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
Trevor Gray led Canby with 10 points and Evan Weber scored 9.
Hancock is now 10-9 overall and 7-7 in the Little Eight Conference. They will play at Graceville against Border West on Friday night.
