The Henning boys’ basketball team established a commanding 41-14 halftime lead and cruised to a 77-34 win over New York Mills in a Park Region Conference matchup on Friday night. Henning hit 50% (32-63) of their field goal attempts and made 45% (9-20) of their 3-point attempts.
Top producers for the Hornets were Mason Hammer (30 points, 5-8 3’s, 6 rebounds, 3 steals, 3 assists), Tyson Misegades (15 points, 4 assists) and Kale Misegades (12 points, 10 assists, 6 rebounds, 4 steals). Lane Dilly added 8 points, 4 assists, 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Henning dominated the boards, 31-16.
“We were able to jump out to a big margin early and slowly extended the lead,” reported Henning Head Coach Randy Misegades. “Eli Reinbold (7 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 assist) did some nice things for us in the 2nd half off the bench tonight.”
The Eagles were led by Sam Kopveiler (12 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists) and Brayden Ehnert (10 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals). New York Mills shot 34% from the floor.
Henning (19-1) has won eight games in a row. They will host Verndale on Tuesday and Parkers Prairie on Thursday.
New York Mills will travel to Twin Valley on Monday for a game against Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal. After that trip they will host back-to-back games on Thursday against Bertha-Hewitt and on Friday against Barnesville.
