Chargers Shoot Over 55% and Record 23 Assists in Win Over Rothsay

The Brandon-Evansville Chargers led 32-19 at halftime and went on to defeat Rothsay 69-38 in a Little Eight Conference boys’ basketball contest on Tuesday night.  Brandon-Evansville made 55.6% (25-45) of their field goal attempts, including 13-of-25 3’s.  Rothsay shot 28.6% (16-56) from the floor.  The Chargers also had a 39-20 advantage on the board and had 23 assisted baskets.

“Our energy and efforts were fantastic tonight,” commented B-E Head Coach Trent Hintermeister. “We played extremely hard for 36 minutes. We still turned the ball over way too many times and that needs to be a point of emphasis moving forward. Rothsay is a solid basketball team and really well-coached. Taylor Fuhs does such an amazing job with the Rothsay program. Coach Fuhs is a positive leader who deserves so much credit for what he does with his program, he always gets the best out of his players.” 

B-E was led by 14 points and 3 steals from Dezmond White. Tanner Riedel had 10 points and a 7 rebounds, Lucas Fuller had 10 points and a team high 8 boards, and Micah Fuller finished with 10 points.  Brady Perleberg led the team with7 assists, while adding 5 rebounds and 3 points, and Riley Perleberg had 6 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists.

Leaders for Rothsay were Karson Jensen (12 points) and Matthew Danielson (8 points).

Brandon-Evansville (5-12) is home to Parkers Prairie on Thursday and to Underwood on Friday.

Rothsay has a home game Friday with Hancock.
