The Underwood boys’ basketball team made 14 of their last 17 free throws in the second half to secure a 63-58 Little Eight Conference road win at Parkers Prairie on Friday night.  The Panthers went on an 11-0 run in the first half to take a 23-11 lead, but the Rockets responded well to take a 31-30 advantage at the half.

“The second half was back-and-forth before Hudson Risbrudt hit a 3 in a tie game with about 7 minutes left,” reported Underwood Head Coach Kellen Shebeck.  “We never trailed again.  The boys responded very well from an early deficit and turned up the defensive pressure.  Very proud of how they responded and showed maturity tonight!”

Drew Evavold scored a game high 18 points and Cole Peterson added 17.  Kaleb Hammes contributed 12 points.  Risbrudt finished with 7 and Noah Link chipped in with 5.

Underwood (9-8, 6-5 LEC) will host Battle Lake on Tuesday night.

Parkers Prairie (5-8, 3-8 LEC) is at home to Hancock on Tuesday.

No Parkers Prairie stats were reported.
