Hancock played Morris in a high school boys’ basketball contest on Saturday at UM-Morris with the Tigers prevailing, 55-50. Hancock led 32-29 at the half, but Morris outscored the Owls 26-18 over the final 18 minutes. Morris shot 48% (23-48) from the field and Hancock was 23-for-47 (48%).
Riley Asmus led three Tigers in double digits with 18 points. Drew Huebner had 13 and Charles Hansen added 11, including a trio of 3-pointers.
Leaders for the Owls were Jackson Koehl (13 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals), Chase Evink (12 points, 7 rebounds) and Hudson VerSteeg (10 points, 7 rebounds). Rylan Mierding distributed 5 assists.
Hancock (6-7, 4-5 LEC) is at Battle Lake on Tuesday and will host Ashby on Friday in a pair of conference matchups.
