The Brandon-Evansville boys’ basketball team won their non-conference game with Swanville on Monday night, 80-59.  “I thought we did a good job of setting the tone with our defensive energy,” commented Chargers Head Coach Trent Hintermeister. “We have talked a lot about being more physical and playing with pride defensively. I thought for the most part we did that. Our seniors did a great job getting the rest of our team ready to go.”

B-E shot 44.4% (28-63) from the field and made 39.5% (15-38) 3-point shots.  They also held a 38-33 advantage on the boards and had 20 assisted baskets and 16 steals in the game.

Leaders for the Chargers were Dezmond White (26 points, 2 assists, 4 steals), Micah Fuller (15 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists) and Carter White (9 points, 4 assists, 2 steals).  Brady Perleberg led the team with 11 rebounds, while scoring 6 points and distributing 2 assists.  Riley Perleberg had a team high 4 steals and added 3 assists and 4 points.

Swanville was led by Lucas Miller (15 points, 7 rebounds), Brody Kircher (14 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks), Caden Beseman (8 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists) and Hunter Moore (6 points, 4 assists).

Brandon-Evansville (3-9) halted a six game losing skid with the victory.  The Chargers will play at Parkers Prairie on Tuesday and will host Hillcrest on Friday in a pair of Little Eight Conference contests.
