The Border West Boys’ basketball team built a 39-26 halftime lead against Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg on Saturday and added to that lead in the second half on the way to a solid 71-50 victory over the Fighting Saints.  “This was a well-played game for us,” commented Buccaneers Head Coach Jordon Roos. “We were able to get KMS out of their style of play early. We rebounded very well and kept care of the ball which I believe was the biggest two keys to the game.”

Border West capitalized on 19 KMS turnovers, which led to 21 points.  They also hit 42% (8-19) of their 3-point shots in the game and held a 41-33 advantage on the boards, including 19 offensive rebounds.

Leaders for Border West were Dylan Bainbridge (20 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists), Clint Determan (17 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals) and Kyle Kremer (10 points, 4 rebounds).  Holden Rinke added 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.

Border West (10-2) has a road game against West Central Area on Tuesday and back-to-back home games with Ortonville and Underwood on Thursday and Friday.
