Hancock Boys Hold Off Chargers for 72-66 Win

The Hancock Owls survived a shootout with Brandon-Evansville on Thursday night as they posted a 72-66 Little Eight Conference win over the Chargers. 

Jared Koehl recorded a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds to lead Hancock.  Chase Evink and Brayden Kisgen were also in double figures with 19 and 10 points, respectively.  Hudson VerSteeg contributed 9 points and 10 rebounds, and Jackson Koehl also had 9 points.  Kisgen had a team high 5 assists and Jackson Koehl came up with 4 steals.

“I thought we finally played better tonight,” said B-E Head Coach Trent Hintermeister. “We competed for 36 minutes and never gave up. We had players doing the little things better for longer stretches. The problem tonight we that we got absolutely dominated on the boards. We need to do a better job of boxing out and going to get the ball.”

Micah Fuller led Brandon-Evansville with 21 points and Dezmond White was also in double digits with 10 place.  Tanner Riedel and Brady Perleberg contributed 9 points each. 

Hancock (5-5, 3-4 LEC) will host Hillcrest on Tuesday and will play at Ashby on Thursday.

Brandon-Evansville (2-9, 1-5 LEC) is at Swanville on Monday and at Parkers Prairie on Tuesday.
