Owen Buehler led Battle Lake with a season high 26 points and Jack Mekalson had 20.  Buehler had a team high 7 assists, 5 steals and 5 rebounds.  Mekalson had 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocks.  Mason Dalluge scored 8 points, dished out 3 assists and pulled down 4 rebounds.  Braxtyn Cameron chipped in with 7 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.

"We had a slow start to the night but we had a good talk at halftime and we came out with a lot more energy and focus in the second half,” noted Battle Lake Head Coach Brady Cameron.  “We wanted to pressure them and force them into mistakes and we did that tonight causing 22 turnovers and scoring 29 points off those turnovers tonight.  We had some guys who were under the weather tonight and the young guys stepped up in a big way and contributed great minutes for us.  Coach Holsten does a great job getting everything he can out of his players and they did a great job defending us tonight and making us work for everything.  Our busy week continues on Saturday as we play host to Parkers Prairie on Alumni Night.  We are hoping to have a good crowd and lots of Alumni back to watch our current team."

Ashby shot 54% (20-37) for the game and hit 33% (4-12) of their shots from behind the three-point line.  Brodie Ecker led a balanced scoring attack with 17 points, including a perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line.  Both Richie Johnson and Jake Norby netted a dozen for the Arrows and Kellen Dahlen registered his first varsity double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.  Bradee Christianson entered the scorebook with an old-fashioned three-point play.

“We didn’t handle the ball effectively the last few minutes of the first half and the beginning of the second,” noted Ashby Head Coach John Holsten.  “The Battlers turned our miscues into some easy baskets and transition 3’s.  We competed hard throughout the game.  If we can consistently play with energy, we’ll continue to improve.”

The Arrows overall record drops to 2-5 and they are 1-4 in the LEC.  They travel to Evansville Tuesday night to take on the Chargers.

Battle Lake (7-3, 3-0 LEC) will host Parkers Prairie on Saturday night.
