Detroit Lakes was able to overcome an 11 point first half deficit and record a 66-65 win over Fergus Falls on Tuesday night in DL.  The Lakers held a decisive 50-33 edge on the boards.  DL shot 36.7% from the field and the Otters made 36.5% of their shots.

“We got off to a sluggish start, down 9-0, but responded well, and had a nice run to lead 30-19 in the first half,” reported Fergus Falls Head Coach Matt Johnson. “I thought we gave a great effort defensively, and battled a physical and athletic team on the glass. It was fun to see some perimeter shots fall, but struggled scoring in the paint throughout the night. In the end, we gave ourselves a chance, but couldn't quite convert on the big possessions and fell by one. It was a good learning experience for our guys, and a night we definitely got better!”

The Otters were led by Henry Bethel and Hayden Knick (6 3’s) with 18 points apiece.  Bethel and Ryan Hirst led the team with 5 rebounds each and Bethel and Josh Sternberg each had 3 assists.

Devon Berg led four Lakers in double figures, scoring 23 points.  Mason Carrier (13 points, 11 rebounds) and Oliver Quam (12 points, 13 rebounds) each registered a double-double for DL, and Brandton Marsh added 10 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists.
