The game between Border West and Underwood on Friday night started with a bunch of runs as the Buccaneers got an early lead, but Underwood countered and tied the game before the Bucs went on another run to end the half leading 43-27. Border West went on to win the game 69-50 with senior guard Dylan Bainbridge eclipsing the 1000 point mark in the game.

“Underwood shot the ball well from 3 but I was very pleased how we defended the lane and limited easy points,” commented Border West Head Coach Jordon Roos

Border West shot 51% (30-59) from the field.  Clint Determan and Bainbridge were in double figures with 20 and 19 points, respectively.  Determan added 10 rebounds to complete his double-double.  Assist leaders were Bainbridge and Cole Gilsdorf with 4 apiece, and Bainbridge also had 5 steals.

Noah Link led the Rockets with 12 points on 4 three pointers. Cole Peterson had 7 points and 10 rebounds, Drew Evavold 11 points, and Jayden Harig had 7 points.

Border West (5-2) goes to Battle Lake on Tuesday.

Underwood (4-4) will host Parkers Prairie on Monday and Brandon-Evansville on Tuesday in a pair of Little Eight Conference games.
