Otter Boys Strike Early in 71-38 Win Over Proctor

Fergus Falls scored the first 9 points of the game and built their lead to 19-2 as they went on to post a 39-21 halftime lead and a 71-38 victory over the Proctor Rails on Wednesday night.  The win puts the Otters into the championship game of the AmericInn Country Inn and Suites Holiday Basketball Classic on Thursday night at 6:30pm.  Their opponent will be Worthington, a 52-51 winner over Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta in the other semifinal game.

The Otters once again featured a balanced attack, with 11 of the 13 players who were in the game, scoring points.  Josh Sternberg and Levi King had 11 points apiece and Henry Bethel scored 10.  Hayden Knick added 9 points on a trio of treys.

The Otters were able to capitalize on 26 Proctor turnovers in the game.  Fergus Falls took excellent care of the ball, turning it over only 13 times.

Sophomore Josh Synnot came off the bench to lead Proctor with a game high 15 points.  Senior James Pioro added 8 points, including a pair of 3’s.

Fergus Falls is 4-2 after the win.
