The Hancock boys’ basketball team opened play in the Russell-Tyler-Ruthton Holiday Tournament on Tuesday with a 74-52 loss to the host team. Aiden Wichmann led RTR with 21 points and Drew Werkman added 16. RTR made 27-of-59 (46%) field goal attempts. The Knights held a 37-35 edge on the boards.
Leaders for Hancock were Jackson Koehl (22 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals), Chase Evink (7 points, 12 rebounds) and Hudson VerSteeg (6 points, 3 assists, 2 steals). The Owls made 39% (15-38) of their shots from the field.
Hancock (1-3) will play Kaleidoscope at 4:00pm Wednesday in the third place game of the RTR Tournament.
