“We got off to a very slow start offensively, falling behind for most of the first half,” reported Underwood Head Coach Kellen Shebeck. “We were able to take a small lead shortly before half, finishing the half tied at 26. We again struggled to knock some shots down, but found a way to score when it was needed in the second half. We struggled to convert turnovers into points on offense, but we are finding ways to win games.”
Drew Evavold led the Rockets with 28 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Cole Peterson had 9 points and 9 rebounds, Hudson Risbrudt scored 7 points and grabbed 4 boards, Kaleb Hammes had 7 points and Evan Lundgren finished with 6 points and 5 rebounds.
“I’m incredibly proud of the way the guys fought tonight,” added Coach Shebeck. “We didn’t get some shots to fall, and turned the ball over too much, but we continued to battle and found a way to win. Drew Evavold took over the game for us on the offensive end, Cole Peterson had another solid all-around game, Hudson Risbrudt played a very solid game and Evan Lundgren sparked us on defense. It was a fun game to be a part of.”
Leaders for Rothsay were Matthew Danielson (24 points, 7 rebounds, 4 steals), Carson Weiers (11 points, 4 rebounds) and Peyton Kadel (11 points).
Underwood (3-1) is off until Friday, December 30 when they will host Breckenridge.
