Elsa Retzlaff led five Hillcrest girls in double figures on Tuesday night, scoring 19 points on 5-of-7 shooting from behind the 3-point line and leading the Comets to a 73-60 win over Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal.

Maddie Ballweg (15 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals), Ella Knutson (13 points, 7 rebounds), Ruby Peterson (12 points) and Lizzy Olstad (10 points, 5 rebounds) joined Retzlaff in double digits.  Madi Foss pulled down a team high 16 rebounds and also chipped in with 4 points.

“We shot the ball really well tonight,” noted Head Coach Hannah Clark of Hillcrest.  “The girls moved the ball and played unselfish basketball.  Elsa led us in scoring again, but we also had four others in double figures which goes to show just how balanced of a team we are.  We did a good job on the boards and didn’t give the Titans many second chance opportunities.  We struggled on the defensive end and we have some things to clean up, but overall, I thought we played a good game.”

Hillcrest (4-2) will open play in the Sacred Heart Holiday Tournament on Tuesday, December 27, against the host team.
