The Border West Boys’ Basketball team shot 49% (37-75) from the field, scored 60 points in the paint and 42 points off turnovers as they controlled their ballgame with Tri-State on Friday night, leading 56-22 at the half and winning 93-42.  The Buccaneers also held a 45-30 advantage on the boards.

“We played a really nice game tonight,” said Border West Head Coach Jordon Roos. “We had a good start, but Tri-State rallied in the first quarter. We had a great second quarter and controlled the game from there. Was nice to see 4 players in double figures and 13 different players score. Maybe the most impressive thing from tonight was the pace we played at scoring 42 off turnovers and 25 in transition while only turning the ball over 8 times. Very great team effort.”

Clint Determan registered a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Bucs.  He was joined in double digits by Cole Gilsdorf with 13, Andrew Walker with 12 and Grant Dawson with 11.  Dylan Bainbridge added 5 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists, while Gilsdorf had 5 boards and 5 assists.

Border West (2-0) will begin a four game stretch of home contests on Tuesday when they host the Breckenridge Cowboys.
