Jon Lillquist has been coaching the Sebeka boys’ basketball team for 27 seasons.  His team returns seven letter winners and one transfer student, which makes for some optimism heading into the 2022-23 schedule.  Jeff Lake will serve as assistant coach for the Trojans.  “We won some games towards the end of the season and played our best basketball at the end of the year,” noted Coach Lillquist.

Returning letter winners are senior Brody Connor (F), juniors Christian Berg (G), Zack Thornton (G), Teagen Lee (C), Casey Blixt (G) and Brayden Brinkman (G), and 8th-grader Max Lake (G).  Junior forward Jasper Hosey will be new to the varsity.

“We look to use the experience of last year to build towards a successful season,” said Lillquist.  “We have quite a bit of depth and we hope to get off to a fast start.  We will need to play good team basketball and if we can do that we can have a really fun season.”

Lillquist says Browerville-Eagle Valley and Nevis are the top teams in Section 5A, with Henning the best team in the Park Region Conference.
