The Perham girls won the Section 8A Cross Country Championship on Friday with the Hawley girls’ taking second place. Both teams have secured spots in the Class A State Meet on Saturday, November 5 at St. Olaf College in Northfield. Individual state qualifiers are Section champion Jade Rypkema of Nevis and runner-up Anjalie Aho of United North Central. They are joined by Morgan Koppelman of Park Rapids Area, Amelia Machlitt of Clearbrook-Gonvick, Adeline Bjorklund of Nevis and Ellen Schauer of Lake Park-Audubon.
The Perham girls put all 7 of their varsity runners in the top 15, earning All-Section honors. Quincy Anderson, Mya Morris and Myriah Tharaldson were also Academic All-State honorees with a GPS of higher than 3.75.
