The Hillcrest volleyball team lost their first two sets in Parkers Prairie on Thursday night, falling 25-23 and 25-22, before rallying to win the match in 5 sets by posting victories of 25-13, 25-18 and 15-11 in the final three sets.

“Tonight there was a ton of exciting volleyball in the Parkers Prairie gym at every level,” commented Head Coach Debi Foss of Hillcrest. “Long volleys, big blocks, exciting digs, great serving, and a ton of cheering from both ends of the court by the student fans all which made it a great match. We rallied together as a team and got the job done. Our girls played with a lot of heart and were determined to come from two sets down and get the win. We served well and were more effective with our blocks tonight.  It was a fantastic HOMECOMING week win on the road.”

The Comets were led by Madi Foss (37/38 serving, 20 service points, 8 aces, 12 kills, 17 digs), Anna Brumfield (13/13 serving, 4 service points, 10 kills, 9 digs, 1 block kill), Hope Adams (8 service points, 2 ace serves, 4 kills, 9 digs), Ella Knutson (9 kills, 3 digs, 6 block kills), Emily Adams (2 service points, 9 kills, 14 digs, 3 set assists, 5 block kills), Ruby Peterson (24/24 serving, 34 set assists, 6 digs, 14 service points, 4 kills) and Maddie Ballweg (5 serving points, 35 digs).

“Our next game is Thursday against Rothsay,” added Coach Foss. “It’s our last home game and we will be honoring our seniors as well as our Norwegian exchange students before the Varsity match starts.”
