Hillcrest Lutheran Academy squared off with Park Christian School in Moorhead on Tuesday night and the lady Comets swept the Falcons in 3 sets, winning 25-17, 26-24, 25-23. “I have to give a lot of credit to our back row tonight,” commented Hillcrest Head Coach Debi Foss. “We picked up a lot of their attacks and were able to get the ball back to Ruby Peterson so we could attack the ball back.”
The Comets were led by Maddie Ballweg (9/9 serving, 18 digs), Emily Adams (8/8 serving, 12 kills, 12 digs), Anna Brumfield (7 service points, 9 kills, 15 digs), Hope Adams (7 service points, 8 kills, 4 digs), Ella Knutson (5 kills, 4 digs) and Madi Foss (7 service points, 4 kills, 20 digs).
“I’m proud of the girls for keeping their composure when we were down and fighting back,” added Coach Foss. “We’re still on a learning journey and it was good to play against a competitive team tonight.”
Hillcrest will host Wheaton/Herman-Norcross on Thursday in a conference matchup.
