Warriors Pile Up 477 Yards in Win Over Hillcrest

The Wheaton/Herman-Norcross football team scored 29 first quarter points, led 45-0 at the half and finished their game at Hillcrest Friday night with a 64-13 victory over the Comets.  The Warriors had 477 yards of offense on the night and held the Comets to 148 total yards, only 17 coming on the ground.

First quarter TD’s came on a 33 yard pass from Marshall Tolifson to Dylan Bainbridge, an 8 yard pass connection between the same two player, a 6 yard run by Patrick Forcier and a 5 yard run by Brayden HoferClint Determan was 3-for-3 on PAT kicks and Holden Rinke ran the ball into the end zone for a two-point conversion.

In the second quarter, Determan booted a 42 yard field goal, caught a 5 yard TD pass from Tolifson and booted two extra points, including one after a 30 yard interception return by Hofer.

Hofer’s third touchdown of the night came on a 5 yard run in the third quarter and was followed by another Determan PAT kick.  Hillcrest got on the board with a 4 yard run in the third quarter.

Peyton Forcier took the ball in from 2 yards out in the fourth quarter, the Comets returned a kickoff 60 yards for a score, and Rinke scored a TD on an 11 yard run.

Tolifson completed 13-of-17 passes for 166 yards and 3 scores.  Hofer had 100 rushing yards on 10 carries, Patrick Forcier ran for 70 yards on 14 attempts and Rinke had 50 yards on 9 tries.  Bainbridge (2 receptions, 41 yards, 2 TD’s), Determan (2 receptions, 33 yards, 1 TD), Bryant Callenius (3 receptions, 25 yards) and Patrick Forcier (3 receptions, 24 yards) were the leading receivers.  Eight different players caught at least one pass in the game for Wheaton/Herman-Norcross.

The Warriors (3-0) will host Hancock on Friday night, while Hillcrest (0-3) plays Bertha-Hewitt in Fergus Falls.
