Perham sophomore Bjorn Anderson won the individual title at the Lucky Lindy Boys Cross Country Invitational, and Heritage Christian placed their first five runners in the top 20 on Thursday, finishing in first place with 66 points.  Perham was second with 112 and Monticello third with 118.  Alexandria came in sixth with 163 points and Fergus Falls was tenth out of 22 teams with 303 points.

“The boys had a successful team performance in all levels of races from Varsity to Junior High,” reported Fergus Falls Head Coach Derek Meyer. “Every runner had a season best time, with many dropping significant time of their personal best. Jaden Miller had a strong race that brought him close to where he wants to be. He dropped almost a minute off his previous season best and will be stronger next week. Matthew Tuel had a stellar performance and hit a benchmark time of sub 18 minutes. He had been chasing that goal for the season and hit it today. He was consistent in his race and pushed through all the way to the finish. Henry Greenagel was another athlete with a solid time drop of over a minute. The Varsity group is starting to take shape and get to a fitness level we expected to be at.”

Junior High racers that placed in the top 30: Nolan Felstul placed 10th, Kadyn Zender placed 28th and Ethan Strande placed 30th. “This is a big accomplishment to get this honor in this size of a race. Lots of fast kids representing all 3 classes in the State,” noted Coach Meyer.
