“Thank goodness the weather cooperated and gave us a bit of a break from the heat for our meet tonight,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Niki Welde.  “Cassie Wellman led the Otters off with a second place finish in the Girls Varsity race.  She ran an excellent second half of her race to run in with the leaders.  Cassie is running stronger and with more confidence and it shows.  Savannah Lee ran her first cross country race for the Otters tonight placing in our top 5 scoring team.”

“Sonja Lahti had an exciting personal best tonight,” said Coach Welde.  “Naomi Dummer and Sarah Grotberg rounded out PR times run this evening.”  

West Central Area Coach Austin Hanson said, "The course at Detroit Lakes is very hilly, which can make hitting times difficult.  Still, everyone is on the same playing field and we have to be mentally tough moving forward! Skylar LaRue got a PR which is really tough on that course!  We have a week off to recover and train before we head to New London next Thursday!"
