The Menahga Braves got things rolling early in their Section 8AA semifinal girls’ basketball contest against the Perham Yellowjackets. They rode their strong start to a 70-49 victory over Perham, advancing to the Section championship game against Fergus Falls at 7:00pm Friday night at the Detroit Lakes High School gymnasium. The winner of that game will qualify for the Class AA State Girls Basketball Tournament which begins on Wednesday, March 16.
Menahga was led by Amanda Lake and Janie Tormanen with 19 points each.
Willow Thiel of Perham led all scorers with 25 points.
Menahga takes a 26-2 record into the game with Fergus Falls (23-5).
Perham ends their season with a record of 21-8.
