“First off, congratulations to Hancock and their basketball team,” said Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Zachary Traphagen. “They are the real deal and it certainly appears they're ready for a deep playoff run. Although the score may not indicate it, I really thought our girls battled and played their hearts out. I'm very proud of them for not losing their spirit when it seemed like the Owls could do no wrong in that first half. Came out in the second half and just kept competing. The end of the season is always so hard to say goodbye to the seniors, but the emotions that come out, the tears, the hugs, all of that is what makes sports so special. We set a goal to win at least one playoff game, which hadn't been done since the 2016-2017 season and these girls achieved that. I'm happy this group of seniors were able to play a big role in reaching that goal.”

Hancock (25-1) will face Wheaton/Herman-Norcross (22-3) at 7:00pm Wednesday at Minnewaska Area High School in Glenwood in the Section 6A semifinals.

Brandon-Evansville ends their season with a record of 12-15.
