Olivia Otto led Brandon-Evansville with 19 points and Kylee Dingwall registered a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds as the Chargers knocked off Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg on Thursday, 51-48.  The Chargers led 30-21 at halftime.  Dingwall also had 4 assists and 3 steals.  Otto finished with 7 rebounds, 4 steals and 2 assists.

“What a fun night for our girls,” said Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Zachary Traphagen. “It’s been awhile since this program had won a playoff game, and to do it in the fashion we did it in tonight made it all that much more exciting. We certainly didn’t help ourselves out with poor free throw shooting throughout the game, but Olivia, Haddy and Kylee all stepped up and made some big FTs at the end when it counted most. Unfortunately, we had a couple girls leave the game with injuries, so our thoughts are really with EmmaLee Brethorst and Kiley Lund right now. As coaches, we are just so happy for the girls and unbelievably proud of them. We get a day to try to recover and then face a very tough challenge on Saturday at Minnewaska when we face Hancock.”

Brandon-Evansville shot 35% (16-45) from the field, but struggled from the free throw line, making only 13-of-30 (43%).
