The season ended for the Rothsay girls’ basketball team on Monday night as they fell to Ada-Borup West 45-33 in a Section 6A pigtail playoff game in Ada. The Cougars had a slim 19-18 halftime lead, but took control in the second half outscoring the Tigers 26-15 over the final 18 minutes of play.
“I’m so proud of how hard our girls fought from start to finish tonight,” commented Rothsay Head Coach Anita Heier. “They battled the entire game and never gave up. This team improved so much this year and I couldn’t be more proud of them. Our seniors, Abby Honer, Chase Balken and Summer Wigdahl were such great leaders for us and they will be missed.”
Kenadi Carlsrud led the Tigers with 11 points and 8 rebounds. Savannah Sullivan added 8 points and Elli Meyer chipped in with 7.
Rothsay finished the season with 7 wins and 18 losses. Ada-Borup West will travel to Henning to face the number two-seeded Hornets on Thursday night.
