Total Team Effort Leads Henning to 80-34 Win Over Underwood

Henning took control in the first half of their boys’ basketball game with Underwood on Friday night, building a 47-14 lead at the break.  The Hornets went on to post an 80-34 victory over the Rockets.

“We were pleased with the effort of our guys tonight,” said Henning Head Coach Randy Misegades. “We played solid on the defensive end. Our ball movement offensively afforded us a lot of open shots and a number of guys were able to knock them down. Underwood has a very young group that is only going to get better.”

Henning was led by 19 points from Mason Hammer and 17 from Tyson MisegadesKale Misegades and Carter Dilly contributed 15 and 13 points, respectively.

Tanner Arndt dished out a team high assists, had 6 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals, while Kale Misegades had 6 assists, 4 steals and 5 rebounds, and Hammer added 5 assists, 4 rebounds and 3 steals.  Carter Kenyon secured 7 rebounds on the night.

Henning (19-4) will play at 3:30pm game Saturday at Verndale.

Underwood was led by Cole Peterson with 16 points and Gavin Pausch with 5.

“We struggled to score tonight and take care of the basketball, which led to too many fast breaks for Henning, especially early in the game,” reported Underwood Head Coach Kellen Shebeck. “Henning shot extremely well with 13 threes.”

Underwood will host a makeup game with Ashby on Monday night.
