Jacob Cook and Torin Olson also reached double figures for the Arrows with 16 and 12 points, respectively. Matson Hoff added 5 and Jackson Finkelson had 4. Making his return to the lineup after missing 3 games with an ankle sprain, Carson Spangler nailed a three-pointer. The Arrows shot 47% (26-57) from the field and had 49 total rebounds, including, for the second consecutive game, Cook’s 15 defensive boards to complete another double-double.
“Sam Sorenson’s post defense and the perimeter defensive skills of Brodie Ecker enabled us to establish a significant lead by halftime,” noted Ashby Head Coach John Holsten. “Committing just one turnover in the first half was also a key factor.”
The Arrows own a 17-2 overall record and they are 8-1 in the Little Eight Conference. Next up is a big sub-section game Tuesday night in Hancock.
Rothsay (5-17) has lost seven straight games. They will play at Staples-Motley on Monday and then close out their home and Little Eight Conference season with back-to-back games on Thursday against Brandon-Evansville and Friday against Parkers Prairie at the Bill Rose Gymnasium.
