The Ashby Arrows Boys Basketball Team outlasted the Parkers Prairie Panthers 52-42.  The Arrows saw a 24-14 halftime lead quickly disappear as the Panthers came out of the break firing on all cylinders to tie the game.  The Arrows never trailed however, and eventually pulled away.

Ashby had three players reach double figures.  Jacob Cook led all scorers with 20 points.  Fourteen of those points came in the second half.  Cook also grabbed a career high 22 rebounds.  Torin Olson contributed a solid 16 points.  Hunter Norby added 10.  Matson Hoff and Sam Sorenson completed the Arrow scoring total with 4 and 2 points, respectively.

Cole Koep led the Panthers with 19 points which included making a game high 4 three-point baskets.  Carter Thoennes joined Cole in double figures adding 10 points.

Both teams struggled to score from behind the arc.  Parkers Prairie made 5 of 24 attempts (21%) while the Arrows converted on 5 of 21 (24%).

Parkers was a perfect 100% (5/5) from behind the charity stripe.  Ashby got to the line but poor shooting (39%) kept them from taking control of the game.

"We committed a season high 21 turnovers and made it difficult to add to the lead with missed free throw after missed free throw (7/18)," reported Head Coach John Holsten of the Arrows.

The win raises the Arrows overall record to 16-2 and 7-1 in the Little Eight Conference.  Ashby matches up with the Rothsay Tigers Friday night in Ashby.
