Brandon-Evansville beat Rothsay Tuesday night in a Little Eight Conference boys’ basketball contest by a score of 68-58 in Evansville. The game went to overtime before being decided in the Chargers favor.  Rothsay led 28-26 at the half and the game was tied at 53 at the end of regulation.

Dezmond White had a team high 19 points and he was joined in double figures by Tyler Bitzan with 13.  Micah Fuller and Titus Fuller contributed 9 and 8 points, respectively.

“I thought we played well for the final 4 minutes of regulation and throughout the overtime period,” stated B-E Head Coach Trent Hintermeister. “We stepped up and got some solid defensive stops to send it to overtime and then continued our defensive efforts which led to better offense.”

Rothsay was led by Matt Danielson with 21 points.  Tanner Heier added 20 points for the Tigers.

“I thought boys played extremely hard and competed the whole way,” commented Rothsay Head Coach Taylor Fuhs.  “A lot of things didn’t go our way, but hopefully battling through some adversity helps us down the stretch as we head to playoffs.  The Chargers hit some really big shots in OT to extend the lead, so definitely credit them as well.”

Brandon-Evansville (10-10) will host Henning on Thursday and play at Parkers Prairie on Friday.

Rothsay (5-16) plays at Ashby on Friday.
