Brylie Schultz scored 20 points, including career point number 1000, finished her double-double by securing 11 rebounds and also blocked 4 shots to help the Wheaton/Herman-Norcross girls’ basketball team to a 60-21 win over Brandon-Evansville on Tuesday night in Wheaton.

“I thought the girls came out and matched the physical style of B-E,” commented Acting Head Coach Corey Spilde of the Warriors.  “Brylie Schultz made her 1000th point for her career.  It was a great moment for her and our team.  Our defense was pretty good for the entire game and we hit some timely 3-pointers to help extend our lead.  Any win the Pheasant Conference is a good win.  I'm proud of the effort!”

Julia Schmidt added 15 points, 4 assists and 4 rebounds, and Ellissa Rinke finished with 7 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists.  The Warriors held a 33-20 advantage on the boards.

Sydney Schaefer scored 7 points to lead the Chargers.  Kiley Lund scored 4 points and Kylee Dingwall led the Chargers with 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Olivia Otto also had 5 boards.

“It was a tough shooting night for us, but the girls kept their heads up and played with good effort,” commented Head Coach Zachary Traphagen of Brandon-Evansville. “I was happy with our ball movement against their zone, and that led to some really good looks at the basket. Wheaton is really long and fairly athletic, so they make it tough on opposing teams to get good clean looks. We get Wednesday to practice, then are back at it again on Thursday and Friday to wrap up our 4 game week.”

Wheaton/Herman-Norcross (16-3) will play the Trojans in Ortonville on Thursday night.

Brandon-Evansville (9-12) is at Ashby on Thursday and home against Park Christian on Friday.
