Ashby led 26-25 at halftime on Saturday and played even with Wheaton/Herman-Norcross over the final 18 minutes as each team scored 24 second half points in the Arrows 50-49 victory over the Warriors at UM-Morris.

Jacob Cook recorded his eleventh double-double (17 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals) of the season.  Hunter Norby added 11 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal.  Matson Hoff chipped in with 7 points, Torin Olson had 5, and Brodie Ecker finished with 4 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists.

“This was a really fun game to be a part of. Our guys worked really hard all game and deserve a lot of credit,” commented Head Coach Jordon Roos of the Warriors. “We went up 7 with about 8 minutes left and had a sloppy 4 minutes which turned into a 2 point deficit. The game came down to a few missed shots and rebounds at the end and we came up on the wrong side.”

The Warriors shot 46% from the field and Ashby hit 46% of their field goal attempts.  The Arrows won the battle of the boards 26-25.

Leaders for Wheaton/Herman-Norcross were Dylan Bainbridge (17 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals) and Clint Determan (14 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists).

Ashby (15-2) is home against Parkers Prairie on Tuesday and Rothsay on Friday.

Wheaton/Herman-Norcross (14-5) will host Rothsay on Monday and CGB on Friday.
