Led by a double-double from Misti Zempel (20 points, 10 rebounds), 50% (26-52) shooting from the field and a 39-16 edge on the boards, the Hancock lady Owls handed Brandon-Evansville a 67-21 defeat on Saturday afternoon. Hancock held B-E to 23% (8-35) shooting in the game.
Zempel was joined in double digits by Kaitlyn Rohloff who had 12 points in addition to her team high 9 assists. Carlee Hanson added 13 points and led the Owls with 7 steals. Kaitlyn Staples contributed 8 points and 3 assists, Karleigh Rohloff had 6 points and 3 steals, and Brooke VerSteeg finished with 4 steals, 2 assists, 5 rebounds and 4 points.
Hancock (20-1) ran their current winning streak to 7 games. They will play at Dawson-Boyd on Tuesday and will close out their regular season schedule with a home game against Canby on Thursday.
Brandon-Evansville (9-10) will host Parkers Prairie on Monday in the first of four games during the week, including road games at Wheaton/Herman-Norcross on Tuesday and Ashby on Thursday, and a home game with Park Christian on Friday.
