Liz Lukken (20 points, 6 rebounds) and Mia Blaskowski (17 points, 6 rebounds) both contributed double figure scoring for the Underwood Rockets as they completed a perfect Little Eight Conference season with a 67-43 win over Hillcrest Lutheran Academy on Thursday night in Fergus Falls.  The Rockets led 37-18 at the half.

“Going undefeated in the Little Eight conference is not an easy accomplishment, but these girls had a goal and they came out tonight wanting to reach it,” commented Underwood Head Coach Brian Hovland.  “I'm proud of how they have accepted their roles and done what we need when we need it.   This didn't just happen tonight and their hard work paid off tonight. I thought Mia did an excellent job again tonight in her first varsity start at post.”

Mo Bugbee (9 points, 4 assists), Alayna Evavold (7 points, 4 rebounds), Ezrah Baker (6 points, 9 rebounds) and Kallyn Grove (5 points, 7 rebounds) also put up solid numbers for the Rockets.

Ruby Peterson led Hillcrest with 17 points and 5 steals.  Madi Foss had a team high 10 rebounds to go along with 6 points and 4 assists.  Ella Knutson added 13 points and Regan Wiertzema had 6 boards.

“Underwood did a good job of making us uncomfortable on both ends of the floor,” said Hillcrest Head Coach Hannah Clark.  “We let them take control early in the game and we were never able to recover.”

Underwood (16-2) will travel to Twin Valley on Friday to face Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal.

Hillcrest (8-11) will travel to Ortonville on Monday.
