Lady Warriors Top Trojans for 15th Win

The Wheaton/Herman-Norcross Lady Warriors traveled to Barnesville on Tuesday night for a tough Class 2A matchup.  The Lady Warriors got off to a fast start but the Trojans responded and closed the gap to 31-30 at half.  The Lady Warriors came out strong on both ends of the floor in the 2nd half and outscored the Trojans 29-12 to take a 60-42 victory. 

Brylie Schultz continued her strong play scoring a game high 28 points to go along with 14 rebounds.  “Brylie has now averaged 31 points per game over the last three games.  She currently has 975 career points and will be honored next Tuesday night in our last home game against Brandon/Evansville,” said Head Coach Scott Bartholomew of the Warriors.  “Ellissa Rinke played another strong game on both ends of the floor tallying 9 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists.  Julia Schmidt turned up the heat on defense in the 2nd half and ended with 16 points and a career high 10 steals.” 

The Lady Warriors also received strong efforts from Megyn Kelly on defense with 4 steals, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists; Sadie Vipond with 3 points, 3 assists, and 3 rebounds, as well as Lydia Vipond with 2 points. 

 The Lady Warriors improved to 15-3 on the season and travel to Battle Lake on Friday night before traveling to Warner, SD for the Warner Classic on Saturday night.

Barnesville was led by Sydney Strand with 10 points.  The Trojans (7-10) host Pelican Rapids on Friday night and travel to Frazee on Saturday for a 3:30pm contest.
