The Ashby lady Arrows were on the road in a Little Eight Conference game against the Parkers Prairie Panthers on Tuesday night.  At the half the Arrows trailed 22-15, but the Panthers came out in the second half and started hitting their three’s than weren’t falling for them in the first half and went on to beat the Arrows, 60-26.

Four players put points on the board for Ashby, led by Celi Nelson with 17.  BrookeLinn Finkelson and Lucy Ohren each had 2 points and Marisa Ludwig had five to round out the scoring.  Finkelson led the team with 9 rebounds, Ludwig had 5 and Nelson finished with 3.

“You never know how a young team will respond after an emotional win like we had on Monday night,” commented Ashby Head Coach Brenda Johnson. “The girls played a pretty good first half of basketball, but then we started to turn the ball over and make unforced errors. We were tired and when you're tired even the basic skills are hard to do and against a physical team who has the ability to take advantage of your weaknesses a young team can easily find themselves playing catch up.  Despite the score which has not been to our advantage most games this group of girls continue to work hard till the buzzer goes off.”

The Arrows will host Rothsay on Thursday night in another conference game.  All fans are encouraged to wear Pink for Cancer Awareness.
