The Breckenridge Cowgirls overcame a 23-15 halftime deficit on Saturday in Pelican Rapids as they handed the lady Vikings a 41-33 Heart O’ Lakes Conference loss. The Cowgirls held Pelican to just ten second half points, while scoring 26.
Abby Johnson led the attack for Breckenridge with 13 points and Camryn Kaehler added 8 points and came up with several big steals to lead the defensive effort.
Ellie Welch had a team high 12 points to lead Pelican Rapids and Morgan Korf finished with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Welch added 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Hazel Haugrud led the Vikings with 8 boards.
Pelican Rapids (12-7, 5-4 HOL) will host Hawley on Tuesday and play at Barnesville on Friday.
Breckenridge (7-10, 5-4 HOL) has a home game with Frazee on Thursday and a road contest at Perham on Friday.
