The Battle Lake boys’ basketball team earned their second Little Eight Conference win of the week on Friday night when they recorded a 66-54 home court victory over Parkers Prairie.  The Battlers shot 46% from the floor.

The Panthers came out strong, taking a 23-19 lead three quarters of the way through the first half, but the Battlers responded with a 12-2 run to go into halftime with a 31-25 lead.

“Parkers did a nice job in the second half picking up the ball pressure and switching screens,” said Randy Dorn of the Battlers.  “We got a little careless with the ball but ended up making some big shots down the stretch.”

Jack Mekalson led all scorers with 23 points.  Mason Daluge poured in 15 points, played tough defense and grabbed several clutch rebounds.  Drew Johnson added 16 for the Battlers.

Battle Lake (7-9) will travel to Frazee on Tuesday.

Parkers Prairie (10-7) travels to Barrett on Tuesday to face West Central Area.
