The Underwood girls’ basketball team jumped out to a 10-1 lead, led 28-25 at the half, but couldn’t hold on through the second half as the Wheaton/Herman-Norcross Warriors recorded a 55-43 win on the Rockets home floor.

“We got off to a fast start, led by as much as 12, but Wheaton is a very good team and battled back to cut the score to a 3 point lead at the half,” said Underwood Head Coach Brian Hovland.  “The second half we could not buy a basket. Brylie Schultz played a great game and we struggled to defend her. She led all scorers with 26.”

The Rockets were led by Liz Lukken (18 points, 5 rebounds, 5 steals), Mo Bugbee (8 points, 3 steals), Alayna Evavold (8 points, 5 rebounds) and Kallyn Grove (7 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals).

The Rockets were 4-of-21 from 3-point range and 7-of-15 from the free throw line.

The Warriors were 7-of-18 from beyond the arc and 12-of-16 on free throws.
