Eagles Start Fast, Earn Season Split with Otters, Win 64-50 in St. Cloud

The St. Cloud Apollo Eagles took a 20-5 lead over the Fergus Falls boys’ basketball team on Monday night, led 40-21 at the half and won the game by the score of 64-50 to gain a split of the season series with the Otters.

Four Eagles were in double digits.  They were led by Jikany Deang with 19 points.  Thomas Diew scored 15, Azayah Washington contributed 11 and Hassan Doumbia finished with 10.

Luke Newman had a game high 20 points to lead the Otters and Kaden Conklin joined him in double figures with 10.  Elliott Pribbenow hit a pair of 3’s for his 6 points and Henry Bethel chipped in with 5.

Apollo made 22-of-30 free throws and the Otters made just 4-of-12 from the line.

Fergus Falls (7-9) will play at Sartell on Friday night.
