Battle Lake led 18-17 at halftime and went on to post a 43-35 Little Eight Conference girls’ basketball victory over the Panthers in Parkers Prairie on Thursday night.

“We were in a dog fight tonight with the Panthers as neither team could muster up a double digit lead all night,” stated Battle Lake Head Coach David Marso.  “We just couldn’t pull away at any point, but late in the second half we were able to extend a small lead and get the win.”

Leading scorers were Morgan Malone with 15, Ady Tysdal with 13 and Grace VanErp with 10.

The Panthers were led by Cora Johnson and Avery Benzinger with 10 points apiece.

Battle Lake (11-4, 6-1 LEC) has a makeup game at home with Ashby at 4:15 Saturday and will travel to face Lake Park-Audubon on Monday night.

Parkers Prairie (6-7, 3-4 LEC) will play at Rothsay on Friday night.
