Fergus Falls struggled to get into a rhythm in the first half Friday night in Willmar as they turned the ball over seven times in the first eight minutes and fell behind 13-3.  From that point on the Otters were impressive as they finished the half on a 24-9 run to take a 27-22 halftime lead.  They built the lead to double digits in the second half, only to see the Cardinals battle back and cut the lead to two late in the game.  Solid execution down the stretch carried Fergus Falls to a 58-51 Central Lakes Conference victory.

Kaden Conklin’s double-double (23 points, 11 rebounds) led the Otters.  He also had 4 assists and made his final five free throws of the night.  Luke Newman had 10 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists, Hayden Knick added 8 second half points and Henry Bethel grabbed 5 rebounds.  Fergus Falls held a 35-31 advantage on the boards and made 14-of-19 free throws in the game.

Blake Schoolmeester led Willmar with 11 points and 7 rebounds.  Cayden Hansen added 7 rebounds and 4 assists.

Fergus Falls (7-6) will play at Hawley on Thursday night.
